The Original 2003-06 Run

Bassetville was first launched back in 2003 after a failed attempt at weekly newspaper syndication. From there I worked with a friend to create an online home for the strips after seeing an article in Wired about the birth of webcomics. PvP was featured, I believe.

While the original run and the current 2021 are two completely different approaches and can stand completely apart, why let all that original work go to waste. With a close enough look you’ll definitely see parallels.

Welcome to the new Bassetville site. I’m just getting started and there will be more to come but… I had to start somewhere.

I have loved getting back into cartooning and the panel-a-day approach to Bassetville on Instagram and Facebook has been a really fun approach. However, as I’ve been collecting the strips together I realized also really like to see them all together in a linear way.

So, here we are. A new site where I will collect arcs together when they reach a transition point.

Daily updates will continue through social media and every 6 weeks or so I’ll put together a new collection here on this site. New collections, and maybe other items, will be announced through the blog. We’re starting with the first reintroduction arc from March 1 to April 9 and the following kite arc from April 12 to May 22. The next collection should be going up July 9th.

Join me daily if you can but if not, I’ll be sending out notice when a new collection (or anything else fun) is added to the site.
