Bassetville was originally created by Bryan Prindiville in 2003. After a long hiatus it came back for another go-round.

I love dogs. Growing up an only child my “siblings” always had four legs. Back in 2003, when adopting a dog wasn’t really an option, I decided to make one up. And therein lies the origin of Bassetville. I spent the next three years using Bassetville as an experiment in cartooning. Eventually it got away from me and I moved on to other projects. But I always missed it, especially because by the end the main character had shifted from the made up dog to a cartoon version of the one I eventually was able to adopt.

Skip forward to 2021 and I found myself in a similar position. Now married with a fantastic daughter to a lovely woman, who is unfortunately a cat person, my house has to many of the wrong kind of furry animals. Adding a dog to the mix wouldn’t be fair to anyone. Mix in my going as stir crazy as everyone else in 2020 and this comic strip made it’s presence know like a cold nose to a sleeping face.

While Bassetville is once again on hiatus until the next, I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I enjoy making them. -Bry
